Format

What is a TGS file?

TGS is Telegram’s format for vector stickers and emoji. A .tgs file contains Lottie animation data compressed with gzip. SVG describes the source vector artwork; conversion turns its supported shapes into the TGS structure.

This tool imports static SVG artwork and adds motion in the editor. It does not import an existing Lottie JSON animation or preserve every SVG feature. Filters, masks, patterns, live text and embedded images may need changes in your source design.

Tips and requirements

Telegram TGS requirements and SVG preparation

Use a 512 × 512 pixel canvas for TGS stickers and animated emoji.
Keep the exported TGS at or below 64 KB, with a duration of no more than 3 seconds and a frame rate of 60 FPS.
Make the animation loop and keep every object inside the canvas throughout the motion.
Convert text to vector outlines. Replace embedded raster images and unsupported effects with vector paths.
Reduce unnecessary path points and layers when the export is too large. The exporter tries size optimizations, but complex artwork can still exceed the limit.
Check the exported result in Telegram as well as in the browser, especially after simplifying the source artwork.

TGS supports a smaller set of features than SVG. Convert live text to outlines, replace embedded images with paths, and simplify filters, masks or patterns in your design app. Review the import warnings and preview again after updating the SVG.

How can I reduce a TGS file that is over 64 KB?

Simplify paths, remove hidden or unnecessary detail, and animate fewer layers. The exporter attempts size optimizations and blocks downloads that fail validation. Complex vector artwork may need to be simplified in the original design app.

Why is animation disabled for my SVG?

SVG files with more than 60 editable vector elements use static mode in this editor. Simplify or merge vector elements in your design app, then upload the file again to enable animation controls.

What should I check if Telegram rejects my TGS?

Read the export warnings, confirm the animation meets the requirements above, and make sure you upload the downloaded .tgs file rather than the source SVG. If the file still fails, simplify the artwork and test the new export in @Stickers.

Are my SVG files uploaded to a server?

Yes. Selecting an SVG sends a copy to the service for diagnostics, including before Telegram login. SVG parsing, animation and TGS generation run in your browser. Optional Pro preview and pack tools also send the exported TGS through the service to Telegram.

Can I upload PNG, GIF, Lottie JSON or an existing TGS?

The converter accepts vector SVG source files. It does not import PNG, GIF, Lottie JSON or existing TGS files. For raster artwork, trace or redraw the image as vector paths before exporting an SVG.

Do I need After Effects, and is this an official Telegram tool?

No After Effects installation is needed for this workflow. SVG to TGS is an independent converter and is not affiliated with Telegram.
